Desarrollado en Alemania en 2005, ha recibido actualizaciones continuas a lo largo de los años, culminando en la versión 5.x, y sigue siendo considerado el mejor controlador de iluminación LED del mundo. Este software galardonado combina dos herramientas potentes: un generador de efectos visuales y un controlador de iluminación LED. De versiones anteriores ya conocemos la categoría de efectos TRI (abreviatura de Trigger), que añade un nuevo nivel de interactividad al permitir disparar imágenes manualmente, reproducir audio para vídeos, importar listados de dispositivos desde CSV (la escena importada desde CSV se ejecuta 3,5 veces más rápido), una interfaz de usuario de doble tema aún más sencilla, un rendimiento y velocidad sin precedentes gracias al nuevo motor de renderizado de 64 bits y muchas funciones más para lograr resultados espectaculares desde el principio, aún mejoradas en esta última versión del software.

Gracias al pixel mapping (2D), voxel mapping (3D), un motor gráfico integrado y el motor de renderizado, se crean efectos visuales impactantes y completamente personalizables a tus necesidades.
Este software también es sencillo de usar para VJs y ofrece 3 previsualizaciones en tiempo real. Puedes elegir entre 5 categorías de efectos diferentes y más de 55 efectos incluidos. Los efectos SCE no requieren sonido y ofrecen la mayor variedad de patrones y efectos. S2L, abreviatura de Sound2Light, reacciona a la entrada de audio. M2L, abreviatura de Music2Light, lleva los efectos basados en audio a un nivel aún más profesional. MAS te permite crear efectos desde cero con el avanzado lenguaje de scripting de MADRIX.
La biblioteca ya incluye una gran variedad de perfiles de dispositivos; también puedes crearlos con el Fixture Editor. Con MADRIX 5.5, gestionar la amplia gama de luminarias es sencillo, ya que incluye pars, paneles, tubos, tiras, cortinas, pantallas de vídeo y más.

Combina productos LED basados en DMX y DVI según lo necesites, utiliza diferentes tipos de dispositivos en la misma configuración y controla la instalación completa o solo partes de ella.

Con la versión 5.x, por fin llega una de las funciones más solicitadas por la comunidad MADRIX: retroalimentación visual en controladores MIDI, incluyendo cuatro mapeos MIDI para controladores como el AKAI Professional APC 40 mkII. Ahora, el Feedback de Botones MIDI está disponible y hace que el uso del sistema de iluminación sea mucho más eficiente. 2D pixel mapping

The MADRIX 5 Software makes it possible to control numerous LED fixtures; also of different kinds. Position them according to your needs in nearly any form or shape. 3D voxel mapping in X, Y and Z

MADRIX 5 provides a leading-edge feature set to fully control real 3D LED matrices. MADRIX 5 supports volume rendering (voxel mapping). This approach is fundamentally different to the 3D projections or the physical layout of 2D surface areas that are widely known nowadays. It makes your installation state-of-the-art.

Timelines

Offer unprecedented possibilities to create light shows that sync to music. Based on time code and sequencing, you can trigger segments at exactly the right time and synchronize your lighting to audio, which is shown in waveforms. In this case, MADRIX 5 itself can become the Time-Code sender.

Multiple cue lists 

Cue Lists are automated playlists. The playback of effects and visuals can be precisely scheduled in hours, minutes, seconds, and frames. Time code can be received from Art-Net, MIDI, SMPTE, or taken from the system's time. Synchronize time and equipment across lighting systems and shows.

LED fixtures

The library already includes a large variety of fixture profiles. Use 1-channel, 2-channel, RGB, or RGBW fixtures, or any variant of these. Use the Fixture Editor for your own profiles. With MADRIX 5, it is easy to manage the wide range of fixtures, such as pars, tiles, tubes, tape, curtains, video screens, and more. Combine DMX-based and DVI-based LED products as needed, use different fixture types in the same setup, and control the whole installation or only parts of it. With MADRIX 5, you are in control.

MADRIX effects

Choose from 5 different effect categories and over 55 built-in effects. SCE Effects do not require any sound and make up the most diverse set of patterns and effects. S2L, short for Sound2Light, brings your audio input to life. M2L, short for Music2Light, takes audio-based effects to an even deeper level. MAS allows you to create effects from scratch with the help of the advanced MADRIX scripting language. TRI, short for Trigger, adds a whole new level of interactivity as you can set off visuals with your manual input.

SCE video – HSB+C

Adjusting your videos and tuning their colors is now possible in MADRIX 5 with a new control for HSB [hue, saturation, brightness] as well as contrast.

S2L EQ/spectrum 

S2L EQ/spectrum is one of the most important MADRIX Effects. Equipped with new effect parameters, it makes more fun than ever to create your favorite audio spectrum analyzers. As always, it is a live effect that is displayed in real time.

Performance

MADRIX 5 massively improves the performance across the board. During the testing phase, we easily saw up to 50% reduced load. With just a software update, your existing system can now control larger setups, use more effects or filters, or simply run much cooler. Single MADRIX Effects have also been reworked. The previews have been updated. Patches that are tall and wide, but make use of a lot of space and don't include lighting fixtures everywhere, will see the biggest improvements.

Workflows

Lighting operators worldwide are using MADRIX 5 in their work to illuminate the world spectacularly. Even small things can improve their workflows. MADRIX 5 accommodates numerous ways to operate the software. The above mentioned industry standards for input, interoperability, remote control, and audio make a lot possible for simple setups, complex lighting systems, or any AV integration. Here are just a few examples that go beyond direct control via mouse and keyboard or remote control via a lighting console.

• The Color Picker to choose colors for MADRIX Effects, Color Filters, the Main Output Strobe, and more now has double the size to allow for a finer selection.
• Added mode Ignore to the color filters [Deck A, Deck B, Main Output] to quickly deactivate the filter, especially when controlling it remotely via a lighting console.
• Options > User Interface now allows to define a custom layout for Storage Places; especially when using a MIDI controller with a certain button layout.
• In the Patch Editor, mouse drag and scroll has been implemented, the CSV file import supports UTF-16 encoded files, and you can now define a Lowlight Color for Highlight Mode.

Record files conversion for MADRIX AURA

Recording over network is an incredible feature to record directly to MADRIX AURA. Now, regular record files can record up to 32 universes and can be converted directly in the software for MADRIX AURA 2/8/32.

One of those options is to control the software remotely with the help of the integrated web server and a web page. We are providing a new sample web page that is modern and responsive. With a light and a dark theme, it also looks gorgeous.

In addition, the software includes a full range of helpful and productive tools. This includes the Fixture Editor, but also the Art-Net Time Code Sender. There is also the Logfile, Preview Benchmark, and MADRIX Device Updater, as well as tools for restore and quick support.
