Phono (RCA) Connectors

The RCA connector, also known as the Phono or Cinch connector, is used in the consumer and semi-professional audio/video sector for audio and video connections, and is one of the most commonly used connectors for peripheral devices in home Hi-Fi systems.

It is the standard for audio connections between many types of equipment and is also used for composite and component video connections.

The RCA connector, even though it only allows unbalanced connections, offers good electrical contact, a discreet mechanical solidity, even if its lack of an effective locking mechanism does not make it very suitable for situations in which the connectors could be pulled.
